Simple creamy banana oatmeal

These stovetop banana oats are a staple of my breakfast choices. Oats are a classic, but I enjoy taking the extra step of making these on the stove rather than the instant kind.

The recipe is simple, so as long as you have 10 minutes and a ripe banana this breakfast could be yours.

What you’ll need to make this simple creamy banana oatmeal:

-Ripe Banana

-Almond Milk

-Rolled Oats

-Chia Seeds

-Vanilla Extract

You’ll want to make sure your banana is ripe with a few brown spots. A non-ripe banana won’t be as soft or sweet, producing sub-optimal results.

When choosing an almond milk, I prefer to stick with the unsweetened variety. In this recipe in particular, a good ripe banana will provide all of the sweetening the oatmeal needs.

How you’ll make this simple creamy banana oatmeal:

First off, start with mashing the banana with a fork in the pot. Once you have a creamy mash that isn’t too lumpy, add the rest of the ingredients. Mix the oatmeal and raise the fire to medium heat. Stirring approximately once a minute, cook the oatmeal until it reaches a thick and creamy consistency.

Once it turns, remove the fire and serve topped with whatever toppings you’d like. Fruits, nut butters, and seeds are ideal toppings. My personal favorites are peanut butter and hemp hearts.

This oatmeal could also be made the night before, refrigerated, then eaten cold the next day.
